Plans and the 14-day trial

ContactRoll has three plans: Free, Standard and Plus. Standard and Plus are priced per member of your organization, in US dollars, before tax, and Free costs nothing. Every new organization starts with a 14-day trial of Plus, with no card needed.

The three plans

  • Free: no charge, for up to 3 members, with 1,000 contacts, 1 pipeline, 1 support address of your own, 500 marketing emails a month and 500 marketing contacts. See "The Free plan" for everything it includes.
  • Standard: $29 per member per month, paid yearly ($348 a year), or $35 per member per month, paid monthly. Holds up to 2,000 marketing contacts.
  • Plus: $59 per member per month, paid yearly ($708 a year), or $69 per member per month, paid monthly. Holds up to 10,000 marketing contacts.

A member is anyone who belongs to your organization. Each member is one seat, and the bill follows the number of members.

What Standard adds to Free

Everything in Free, with no limit to members, contacts, pipelines or support addresses, no monthly limit to marketing emails, room for 2,000 marketing contacts, and:

  • Sequences
  • A/B tests
  • Social posting
  • Lead scoring
  • Call transcripts

On Free, a marketing email, a sign-up page and a help center carry the line "Made with ContactRoll CRM". On Standard and Plus they don't.

What Plus adds

Everything in Standard, and:

  • Automation flows, which act on their own when something happens, such as a case becoming urgent.
  • The API, API keys and outgoing webhooks, for connecting ContactRoll to your other tools.
  • Roles of your own, beyond the nine ready-made roles, and "View as", to see ContactRoll the way a role sees it.
  • Phone menus, ringing a caller's owner first, and warm transfer.
  • The video and AI tools.
  • Room for 10,000 marketing contacts instead of 2,000.

Marketing contacts

A marketing contact is a person with a current consent to your organization's marketing email. Each person counts once, and a person whose consent is withdrawn makes room for another.

When your organization reaches its plan's number, ContactRoll says so in one sentence wherever a new marketing contact would be added: an import, a sign-up form's confirmation, or a member recording consent. An import that would go past the number is held back whole, so you can trim the file or move to a plan that holds more first.

The 14-day trial

A new organization starts on Plus, in its trial, for 14 days. The person who makes it is its Owner. Everything on Plus works during the trial, and a banner at the top of every page says how many days are left.

Three days before the trial ends, ContactRoll emails the people who manage billing: the Owner and the Administrators.

You can choose a plan at any time during the trial on the Billing page, at https://app.contactroll.com/settings/billing. When the trial still has more than two days to run, your card is saved now and the first charge is made when the trial ends. Closer to the end, the first charge is made at once.

When the trial ends

If a plan was chosen, your organization carries on with that plan.

If no plan was chosen and your organization has 3 members or fewer, counting invitations that are still open, it moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, and the Owner and the Administrators get an email saying you're on Free, with a link to upgrade. Anything your organization made during the trial that Free doesn't include stays where it is; see "The Free plan".

If no plan was chosen and your organization has more than 3 members, it becomes read-only:

  • Everyone can still read everything, and the Owner and Administrators can still download everything.
  • Email to your support address still arrives and opens cases.
  • Changes, sending mail and taking calls wait until a plan is chosen. A caller hears a short message asking them to try again later or send an email.
  • Choosing a plan on the Billing page brings everything back at once.
  • Or remove members and cancel invitations until there are 3 or fewer, and choose Free on the Billing page.
  • Or, as the Owner, press Choose who stays on the banner: keep up to 3 members, yourself among them, and the organization moves to Free at once. The others' seats are paused, not deleted: their account and everything they wrote stay, their open records become unassigned, and open invitations are canceled. An Owner can give a paused seat back later on Billing's Who stays page, on a paid plan or wherever Free has room.

An organization that stays read-only for 30 days is closed. The Owner can reopen it during the 30 days after that, and it is then read-only for another 30 days, to give time to pay. See "Close your account" for what closing means.

Moving between plans

You can move between Standard and Plus, and between yearly and monthly, from the Billing page.

When you cancel a paid plan, your organization moves to Free when its paid period ends, if it has 3 members or fewer. With more, it becomes read-only, as at the end of a trial.

Moving from Free to Standard or Plus starts no second trial: the first charge is made at once.

Moving from Plus to Standard keeps everything you made. Flows, API keys, webhooks and roles of your own stay in place and can be read and exported. The Plus features that act on their own pause: a flow's run is skipped and says why, nothing new is sent to a webhook, and an API key is answered with a message about the plan. A phone number's setup that was already switched on keeps answering callers exactly as it was set. Moving back to Plus starts them again.

If your organization holds more marketing contacts than Standard allows, campaigns and sequences wait until it holds 2,000 or fewer, or until it moves back to Plus. On Free it is the same at 500. Replies to customers carry on as usual.

Founding price

The first 25 organizations to pay before founding pricing closes get 40% off for their first 12 months, and then keep the price they started on for as long as the plan is paid without a break. Founding pricing closes when the 25 places are taken or on January 31, 2027, whichever comes first. Free organizations do not take a place. The Billing page shows how many founding places are left, the closing date, and the price you'll pay at the founding rate.

Every new organization starts with a 14-day trial of Plus, with no card. When it ends, a team of 3 people or fewer moves to Free by itself, and a larger team chooses Standard or Plus. There is no second trial.
