Comparison for a team of 15
ContactRoll vs HubSpot plus a help desk plus a phone app
A team of 15 that sells, answers support email and takes calls often ends up with three subscriptions: HubSpot for the CRM, a help desk such as Zendesk, and a phone app such as Quo. This page adds up their list prices and sets them beside ContactRoll, which does all three in one product.
With HubSpot Sales Hub Starter
| What the team needs | What the vendor’s page says | 15 people, a month |
|---|---|---|
| A CRM with a deals pipeline: HubSpot Sales Hub Starter | The page prints “Starts at $7/mo/seat” beside $20/mo/seat, under a banner offering up to 65% off Starter to new customers for a limited time. [1] | 15 × $7 = $105 |
| A help desk for support email: Zendesk Support Team | The page prints $19 per agent a month, paid yearly: email and ticketing, routing, automations and triggers. [2] | 15 × $19 = $285 |
| A phone system with a phone menu, transfer and recording: Quo Business | The page prints $23 per user a month, billed annually at $276: phone menus, call transfers, group calling and automatic call recording, with calling to US and Canadian numbers described as unlimited under a fair-use policy. [3] | 15 × $23 = $345 |
| What happens to your data: HubSpot | Records are exported object by object — contacts, companies, deals, tickets and more — as CSV, XLS or XLSX, by users with export permission, with up to 300 exports in a rolling 24 hours; the page describes no single export of everything, and download links expire after 30 days. [5] | Not priced |
| What happens to your data: Zendesk | An admin can export tickets, users and organizations as JSON, CSV or XML, but the page says data exports are not enabled by default and the export tool is not available on Team plans; the REST API can be used on any plan. The download link is valid for at least three days. [6] | Not priced |
| What happens to your data: Quo | Only the workspace Owner can export, and gets contacts, call logs and message logs as CSV files by email within 24 hours, each link expiring after 72 hours. The page lists call recordings, transcripts and AI summaries, voicemail files, media and internal comments as not included. [7] | Not priced |
| The vendors, about | List prices, paid yearly, in US dollars, before tax. HubSpot’s $7 is the price the page shows to new customers for a limited time. | $735 |
| ContactRoll Standard | 15 users at $29 a month, paid yearly. Standard has no phone menus, owner-first ringing or warm transfer. | $435 |
| ContactRoll Plus | 15 users at $59 a month, paid yearly. Plus adds phone menus, owner-first ringing, warm transfer, automation flows, custom roles and the API. | $885 |
| What happens to your data: ContactRoll | An Owner or Administrator downloads everything the organization holds as one JSON file from the Team page, and everything about one person from their contact page; reports and the audit log download as CSV; on Plus the API reads contacts, companies, deals and cases. Closing the account gives 30 days to reopen it, then everything is deleted within a further 30 days, and the downloads work until then. Your data is yours | Included |

How to read these numbers
- The three tools are three logins and three copies of each customer. A call in the phone app, a ticket in the help desk and a deal in the CRM are joined by whatever integration you set up between them; in ContactRoll they are on one timeline.
- The phone app’s plan here includes unlimited calling to US and Canadian numbers under its fair-use policy, so its price does not move with minutes. ContactRoll’s calls are billed by use through Twilio, so the totals above compare a flat price with a price that depends on your calls.
- Zendesk’s Support Team plan is email and ticketing. A public help center and a knowledge base are in its Suite plans, which cost more per agent.
ContactRoll Free is for a team of 3 people or fewer, so a team of 15 is on Standard or Plus. HubSpot’s free tools are for up to 2 users, with 2,000 marketing email sends a month that carry HubSpot’s branding. (HubSpot’s pricing page, read .) Zendesk has no free plan; it offers a 14-day free trial. (Zendesk’s pricing page, read .) Quo has no free plan; it offers a 7-day trial. (Quo’s pricing page, read .)
- Calls in ContactRoll are billed by Twilio to your own account, with no markup from us. For 15 people who each make 200 minutes of calls and take 100 a month, on 3 numbers with no recording, Twilio’s published rates come to about $76 a month [4]. The calling cost calculator works it out for your own minutes.

Questions
Is ContactRoll cheaper than HubSpot, a help desk and a phone app?
It depends on which HubSpot price you pay. At HubSpot Sales Hub Professional, the three tools come to about $1,980 a month for 15 people, plus a required one-time $1,500 onboarding fee, against $885 for ContactRoll Plus. At the lower Sales Hub Starter price the page shows, the three come to about $735, which is less than ContactRoll Plus. Calls in ContactRoll are billed by Twilio to your own account, about $76 a month for the minutes assumed on this page.
What does the ContactRoll price include that the three tools do not?
Marketing email with consent records and a person approving each send, on the same customer record as the deals, the support cases and the calls. The three tools priced here cover a CRM, support email and a phone system, and each keeps its own copy of a customer.
What happens to my data if I leave?
With three tools you export from each: HubSpot by object, Zendesk if exports are switched on for the account and the plan has them, and Quo as CSV files that leave out recordings and transcripts, each as its own help page describes. ContactRoll gives an Owner or Administrator one JSON file of everything, and deletes the data within 60 days of closing the account. See Your data is yours.
